Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School Holiday Assistance Progam

 Support the scholars at Emma Donnan Elementary and Middle School this holidayseason. We have been able to sponsor over 200 scholars in the past. We would not be able to do it without the support of the community.

January 2023 Meeting Minutes

 University Heights Neighborhood Association (UHNA) Minutes 

January 17, 2023 (15 people attending the meeting at Stierwalt Alumni House)

Coordinator Jeri Warner called the meeting to order with a welcome to attendees and brief introductions, and Treasurer Nigel Shoaff volunteered to take notes.

Jeri asked neighbors to vote on Rachel McElwain as co-coordinator, and the vote was unanimous in favor of Rachel taking on this position. Rachel could not attend due to illness. Jeri expressed hope another person would join Rachel in the role as co-coordinator.

OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY

University Heights to be highlighted

INDIANAPOLIS – Mayor Joe Hogsett announced this week that University Heights will be the City’s ‘Neighborhood of the Month’ for January, 2018. The Neighborhood of the Month initiative showcases the unique culture, history, and neighborhood groups that make Indianapolis special.

University Heights was established in 1902 when real estate developer William L. Elder offered eight acres of land to the Church of United Brethren in Christ to help establish a college. To this day, the community remains a home for students and residents alike, who all care for the area with organized efforts led by the University Heights Neighborhood Association.

South Indy QoL Tailgate - Oct 22, 2016

The Community Building Action Team hosted a Tailgate at UIndy in efforts to promote unity within the Neighborhoods of South Indy.  Here are just a few pictures of a very successful event!!
